Let the magic of upholstery rebuild your space

When styling and shaping your living space, don’t settle for mass produced one of many, when you can have unique, bespoke one of a kind.

Chairs, Sofas, Chaise Longue

Elegant wing back chairs, functional dining chairs, antique chesterfields, mid-century classics and even, modular seating, I can transform them all to the exact end result you’re looking for.

Super comfy, cost-effective, better for the planet and totally bespoke to you!

Whether you’re looking to restore something to its former glory, or completely transform the look and comfort of your item, I would love to help transform your furniture for you.

Ottomans, footstools, beds

There are so many opportunities to add style, comfort and practicality into your home beyond sofas and chairs.

Increase your storage and occasional use seating with an ottoman.

Spruce up your piano stool or footstool.

Add a touch of sophistication by revamping your bed.

New cushions are one of the most affordable interior and exterior updates. Whether you’re having a window seat revamp or a couple of cushions for the sofa. Choose from a soft, muted colour palette or something bold and striking. It’s an opportunity to add more personality to your home.

Mix it up with rectangular shapes, over-sized floor cushions or small bolsters to add detail and interest.

Outdoor furniture

Don’t settle for boring, grey or neutral outdoor furniture seating. There’s such an array of technically advanced water-resistant and UV protected fabrics these days that there’s no reason why you can’t transform your outside space.

I can reinvent rusty metal outdoor seating sets using industry knowledge and techniques, create new seating for chairs and modular sofas, or add extra cushions in a fantastic choice of patterns and designs.

Your steps to statement furniture

When restoring a piece of furniture the process is always personal and collaborative. I work with you to understand how you’re going to use the furniture, the space it will be occupying and what style, and fabrics you like. I’ll introduce you to different options for your statement piece and I’ll guide you through every step, using my eye for design to make the whole experience easy and enjoyable.

Frequently Asked Questions

A lot is included in reupholstery – it’s more than replacing the existing fabric.

I strip down your furniture (removing the old fabric, tacks and staples) and make any repairs. I can also change the seating configuration if needed. I restuff or replace the cushion fillings and then recover your item in new fabric and add finishing touches (pipings and trims). For this reason, reupholstery won’t be cheaper than buying new, but you get far greater value: a bespoke piece of furniture reupholstered with high-quality materials. Learn about the re-upholstery process here.

I accept antique, vintage and modern furniture upholstery projects. I also do traditional upholstery (using horsehair, springs and hessian) as well as modern upholstery, using synthetic materials like foam and modern techniques.

Yes, I do. You can choose from leather hides (although these can be expensive) or recycled leather – a high-quality, sustainable version that is more cost-efficient.

Yes, leather furniture looks fantastic reinvented in fabric. I can also reupholster just the cushions if the leather is worn and broken down.

No, I don’t carry out reupholstery at a client’s home. For health and safety, insurance and practical reasons, all reupholstery work is done at my workshop.

Yes, beauty and functionality can co-exist outdoors as well as indoors. I have a huge collection of durable outdoor fabrics to choose from to create welcoming and modern outdoor living spaces.

Choose from UV, water-resistant and colour-fast weaves, velvets, cottons, patterns and plain fabrics.  Find out more here.

A number of fabric manufacturers now offer sustainable fabrics, and I can guide you in sourcing the right one for your project. Learn more here.

Absolutely, you don’t need to put up with a lumpy or saggy sofa seat or back cushions. I can replace the seat and back cushions with a more supportive and longer-lasting filling, extending the life of your existing sofa.

After I’ve received your item at the workshop, you can expect the work to take 4-6weeks, but I’ll discuss this with you when you book your project. Sofas are normally quicker.

This is my second chair reupholstered by Sharon at Vintique and I absolutely love everything about it.  I think there is nothing better than giving a new life to an old piece of furniture and if you’re going to do this, there is no better person than Sharon.  The service from the Vintique team is seamless and very efficient.  Sharon helped me feel confident in choosing bold fabric the first time around, I went even bolder the second time around and my chair is stunning.  Most importantly, I love that my piece is truly unique!

Sharon did a great job reupholstering our beloved, but very tired and worn, 1950s sofa. She took the time to understand our style preferences, understanding the room the sofa would be in so that it fitted in perfectly with the rest of the furniture that we had. Communication was smooth and swift and we will definitely use her services again for our next project.

Sharon reupholstered a window bench for me. Her advice and responsiveness when seeking fabric samples was excellent. She really listened to what I wanted and was patient as I considered the huge range of fabric options she offered. She has great experience and an impressive depth of knowledge, but, importantly, she demonstrates a real passion to help the customer achieve what they want through her service for their furniture.

A true professional and a real pleasure to work with her and the final product is beautifully reupholstered.

Thank you, Sharon!

Rather than get rid of my dining chairs, that I found comfortable and practical, because the upholstery was getting rather tatty, I decided that a reupholster would give  them a new lease of life and if I could find the right fabric a unique edge.

Sharon of Vintique was just the person to help with this. Her knowledge of the furniture and vast array of fabrics gave me the perfect result. I am delighted with the outcome. So much so, I found an old Chaise Longue that someone was getting rid of and asked Sharon and the team to work their magic on it.

If you’re looking for a personal service, attention to detail and great advice on your project, then go no further. Vintique will provide all that and more!! Many thanks, from one very satisfied Client!!
