Antique Napoleon III chaise for reupholstery

£350

This elegant French antique Napoleon III chaise longue (also known as a crapaud-style chaise) dates from the mid-19th century (c.1860–1880) and is available for bespoke reupholstery in fabric that we can help you choose.

Designed for both comfort and style, it features a sweeping curved shield back, perfectly placed lumbar support and scroll arms that flow gracefully into the elongated seat.

This chaise is currently reupholstered to calico and needs a seat rebuild, ready for its final top fabric. This offers you complete freedom to choose a fabric that reflects your personal style, from minimalist plains and heritage weaves to modern velvets or bold statement prints.

The chaise has elegant ebonised turned wooden legs with original castors. Its proportions are perfect with a deep seat and curved back epitomise the comfort-focused design of the Napoleon III era, while the understated frame allows your fabric choice to take centre stage.

The piece is currently upholstered to calico and will require a seat rebuild before re-covering. Furniture of this era look great whether finished in a timeless linen, a sumptuous velvet, or a bold pattern. This chaise longue will make an elegant focal point in any room.
