Mid-Century Parker Knoll Giovanni chair for reupholstery

An exceptionally rare original mid-1960s Parker Knoll PK 970/1 armchair, also known as the ‘Giovanni Chair’, this chair captures the very best of British mid-century design. With its deep seat, gently reclined back, and clean, modernist lines, it’s a beautifully balanced combination of mid century style and comfort.

Made at Parker Knoll’s now closed Chipping Norton factory in 1960, during the golden era of British furniture manufacturing, the PK 970/1 has become highly collectible for its unmistakable shape and British heritage.

This highly sought-after rare model is known for its deep seat, gently reclined back and solid teak frame with angular arms and legs. Its clean, tapered lines create a chair of perfect proportions and classic mid-century design.

Button detailing on the backrest and piping along the cushion and edges add options for more than one fabric. This chair would look incredible in a geometric or abstract modern print, the current fabric is damaged, hence its availability for reupholstery.

This chair is for sale ready for reupholstery - the ideal blank canvas waiting for an exceptional fabric, which I can help you choose.
